Darmstadt Elementary School is a Department of Defense Dependent School (DoDDS) that is located on the outskirts of Darmstadt, Germany. We are approximately 30 minutes south of Frankfurt, Germany and approximately 30 minutes north of Heidelberg, Germany. Our school is nestled at the edge of a forest. We have a beautiful building with student art adorning both the outside and inside.
A majority of our students live adjacent to the school in post housing.
Darmstadt Elementary School is fully accredited by the North Central Association.
We have approximately 500 students.
We provide classroom and special services for the following:
Preschool Handicap
Sure Start
Full Day Kindergarten and
Grades 1-8
We also have classes in Host Nation (German), Physical Education, Music, Library and Art.
Reading Recovery, Compensatory Education, Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language (ESL), Counseling, Speech & Hearing and Learning Impaired assistance is available for eligible students.
Students in grades 9-12 attend H.H. Arnold High School in Wiesbaden, Germany, which is approximately a 30 minute commute.
